High electricity bills. Both during use by owners / tenants, and during the absence of tenants
The main consumer of energy carriers (electricity, gas), during the absence of residents, in a private house / apartment is the climate system. Fortunately, it lends itself very well to optimization with the help of automation: presence sensors detect the absence of people in the room and put the system into an energy-saving mode. Window / door opening sensors block the system (why cool / heat the street?) And remind residents to close windows / doors before leaving. An integrated approach to solving this problem can reduce energy consumption by up to 70%. Depends on the solutions used (sun blinds, occupancy detection, schedules, etc.) and the occupant’s routine (when they enter the home, when they go to bed and wake up, etc.).
Leaks. As a result — huge water bills
There are 2 ways to solve this problem:
1 – Water consumption is monitored and statistics are accumulated in the cloud service. Using Big Data technologies with the involvement of artificial intelligence (AI) and Data Scientist experts, these data are analyzed and compared online with the current values coming from home. Thus, abnormal energy and water costs are determined almost instantly and the system sends an appropriate notification to the owner. If the owner has not responded to the notification within the specified time (5-30 minutes), the suspicious (emergency) source is turned off, and a notification is also sent to the owner.
2 – Water leak sensors are installed in each “wet” room and when a leak is detected, the water is instantly shut off and the owner receives a notification on his smartphone.
Mold. Especially — in the winter or in absence of tenants. In addition to damage to things and furniture, mold and too high humidity in the room are extremely harmful to the health of people living there!
The resolution is a constant temperature and humidity monitoring in each room and automatic activation of ventilation when these parameters reach dangerous values. This approach allows you to maintain the necessary parameters of the air in the room and at the same time do not overspend energy.
Theft. Unfortunately, no one is immune from this
This problem is solved by outdoor surveillance cameras and security of the perimeter of the yard and the house. Properly configured cameras themselves detect suspicious activity and notify the owner. The system can also include searchlights and a voice broadcast that the intrusion has been detected and the police are on their way. In addition, the owner at any time can view the current video from the cameras or the archive of records from his smartphone or tablet.
Illegal occupancy of the house in the absence of owners and subsequent problems with the eviction of uninvited tenants
This problem is solved in the same way as the previous one. In addition to this, at the moment when legal tenants leave the house, the water supply and electricity are automatically turned off (there is only power on life support systems: automation, refrigerator, security system and video surveillance). Also, at the time of an illegal intrusion, sound alarms can be turned on in the house. All these measures can instantly make the house very unattractive for illegal immigrants.

A smart home consists of control elements (keyboards or touch panels, interfaces for mobile devices), with the help of which the user controls the automation system and actuating devices (panel devices) that control engineering and multimedia systems.
The consumption of the Smart Home consists of the consumption of its elements. On average, the consumption of the automation system itself ranges from 300 to 600 W, which is comparable to the consumption of a conventional computer.
Indeed it does. Energy savings are achieved by optimizing consumer management in a house or apartment. Bigger the house, higher the savings.
If a power outage occurs and your system is not supplied with an uninterruptible power supply, it will turn off, and when power is restored, all elements will return to the state at the time of the outage. We can program any scenario that will be activated when there is a power outage.
